What you need

2 lengths of thin dowel or bamboo - one 60 cm long and the other 40 cm

Large sheet of paper -tissue paper

a ball of string

glue

scarps of brightly colored material     

some brightly colored paint .

1.Put together two lengths of wood into a cross and tie it up

2.Place the cross onto the paper and draw a diamond shape around the cross 5 cm larger than the cross. Cut out the diamond shape.

3.Glue the paper or plastic to the lengths of wood.Fold the edges over and glue.

4.Cut a piece of string 40 cm long. Make two small holes in the paper very close to the long stick,30 cm apart.Thread the ends of the strings through the holes and tie them to the stick.Tie your ball of string to this loop as seen in the illustration.

5.Make a tail for your kite by tying bows of material together, and attach it to the bottom to your kite. You might also like to paint your kite with a bright design. Now your kite is ready to fly.
